Advice
Regular check-ups are vital to help check for gum disease and decay.
Gum disease is usually painless until it is to late and is therefore a major cause of tooth loss as people get older. Many problems occur in between teeth so it is important to clean with dental floss or small interproximal brushes as well as just normal toothbrushing.
See examples below.
Treatment options
It is becoming increasingly fashionable to have a nice looking smile as well as a healthy mouth.
Many people are improving their appearance with tooth whitening (bleaching) and cosmetic dentistry to provide an improved ‘designer’ smile. This often involves crowns, veneers or resin fillings or tooth straightening.
Orthodontics is increasingly popular amongst adults with the ‘Invisalign’ almost invisible system, which avoids the use of fixed braces. To find out more about Invisalign please click here.
The practice has experience of many implant cases over the past 15 years. It is often better to place a dental implant to replace a missing (or damaged) tooth than to prepare good unfilled teeth for a bridge. Implants are becoming increasingly popular and successful in providing a replacement for natural teeth either as a single tooth or as a whole set. To find out more about implants please click here.
Dr Keith Cohen is a specialist in Restorative dentistry and undertakes the above procedures with his colleagues in the practice: Dr Wendy Wang, Dr Ester Moreno, Dr Alfonso Frontera.
